Legos, Portraits, and Buildings

Creative Project

A randomly busy week

This has been a busy week of a random collection of photoshoots. I messed around with taking portraits using only regular light bulbs and shooting through dirty plexiglass, then with creating lego scenes, and last by adding to my Homes Series via photographing churches and old buildings I found in Whitley County. Below are some of the results. With just a few simple props found at Hobby Lobby and some old legos, you can have quite a lot of fun exploring creative options.

Plus when you are photographing lego models, you don't have any trouble with your models moving, they are pretty good about holding still. Except for ninjas tapped to the ceiling, they tend to like to fall down. As for the portraits, I found that the plexiglass and simple lighting created an very unique and textured look, enhanced even more by photo shopping in more overlaid textures as well. Lastly, the Homes series has been slowly expanding to include not only homes, but by all means pretty much any building out there. I have found lots of interest in courthouses and old churches, images that are strengthened further by creating an aged and textured look.
