Portraits and a Hat

Personal

Capturing an Essence

This past month I took a series of portraits of my fiance Sarah Bendele. There are two things you need to know about her: She is a writer, and she loves wearing different hats. I hope these photos get that message across.

It is important when taking portraits to try and capture the essence of a person, their spirit. It is this goal that separates snapshots from a unique and inspiring photograph. When you can look into the eyes of a portait and know who they are, you know you have done something right.
