Week 5

Now in my fifth week of my Kendallville class, the weather took a huge turn for the sunnier this week. This Monday was March 1st and it was also the first day in a while that I have seen the sun shinning.

As much as I love winter, the the images that can be captured in the snow, the biggest thing I miss about the warmer seasons, other than the obvious fact that it is warmer, is the clouds. Winter is filled with boring flat dark clouds that are horrible to photograph. Granted the subject is lit up nicely, and you will find that on a bright sunny day it is harder to photograph a subject due to the harsh shadows. But I enjoy photographing the clouds themselves, and we are finally starting to get them back.

So for this adventure I decided to take some merger photographs, taking two images of a landscape. The first had proper exposure of the landscape and the second had proper exposure of the sky. Both taken at the same position and merged in Photoshop. I really loved the results of this. I found a great location in a town called Corunna, IN. It is a very small town and had a train going right through the heart.  Look forward to some great landscape images in the coming weeks as all the snow melts and the sun and clouds combine brilliantly.
