Dusting Off Old Ideas

Creative Project

A Macro World

It has been a while since I have put a blog out, but I am excited to announce that I have a few photography experiments in the works for the coming weeks. I have recently been inspired to test out some of my doodled ideas buried deep in notebooks. These ideas include a water drop kit, a macro lens, Infrared Photography, Schlieren Photography to capture the movement of air, a fog machine, and possibly some smoke flares!

All of these projects have some preparation involved, and I hope to share my successful results with you over the next couple months; however, I won't leave you hanging! I have some fun new macro shots to share from playing around with a new macro lens. These shots include some random objects and plants as well as water drops taken with a basic setup using a sink and flashes. The water drop kit I have in mind will produce much better shots, at least that is my hope!

There is one thing I have learned as an artist that also runs a creative-based business:

It's difficult to focus on personal creative projects when commercial projects keep me busy.

My goal this year is to dedicate time each month to doing one of the projects from my ever growing list of ideas. I'm calling it my Creative Arts Initiative. Stay tuned as I test them out! I hope you enjoy seeing the results as much as I enjoy experimenting with them :)
